This leads to specific concerns in the gathering process, which is not transparent. The data collected causes complications and legal considerations. There is also a chance of data misuse and exploitation.

The sensitive data, particularly biometric information has a chance of misuse. In this case, if the data is stolen, it could lead to severe consequences such as physical harm, identity theft, and financial fraud. The complexity of using both AR and VR technologies which depends upon many hardware and software components could create security vulnerabilities that are vulnerable to malicious attacks (Burr, Taddeo, & Floridi, 2020). For example, VR headsets collect a lot of information regarding mental health. If the information goes wrong, it could manipulate the users and target people. In this case, it raises privacy concerns regarding location tracking and interaction with objects.

Additionally, maintaining an open conversation with the public and maintaining the integrity to find these solutions and address the concerns create awareness for the people. The risks are reduced with an effective campaign system. Furthermore, AR and VR technologies not only depend on creating new opportunities but also create new ethical standards.
